PHP/MySQL Web Developer for smsPREP

Full Time Contract to Hire

GENERAL STATEMENT
smsPREP is a funded start-up company that texts students study materials to help them prepare for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. We were started by current and former Princeton students, and we recently took in a round of funding after incubating at Lightspeed Venture Partners.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a full-time creative developer specializing in PHP and MySQL to develop PHP applications for Joomla! and JoomlaLMS. We are looking for someone who works well on cross-functional teams, learns new skills quickly, and thrives on challenges in a start-up environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop PHP/MySQL applications for Joomla! 1.5 and JoomlaLMS

REQUIREMENTS

3+ years professional experience developing PHP & HTML
3+ years professional experience with MySQL
Professional development experience in Joomla!
Track record of ability to work independently and proactively
Apache HTTP server configuration and installation
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
Excellent documentation, communication and organizational skills
Able to start immediately
Able to work onsite (Palo Alto, CA) or offsite and attend onsite meetings to coordinate efforts with the development team
Experience with AJAX, Java, JavaScript, CSS
Open-Source development experience
Ecommerce development experience
UI implementation experience

COMPENSATION

Contract-to-hire position
Hourly rate / Salary is competitive and dependent on experience
